Breanna Dodge

My name is Breanna Dodge. I grew up in Fairbanks and Anchorage Alaska. I also lived in Arizona for 10 years. Growing up, I witnessed a lot of situations involving drugs and alcohol. I dove into addiction at a young age and have unfortunately wasted a lot of years away from my children and loved ones, choosing to be in the streets stuck in my addiction. I was in jail due to legal issues. I was distracted from dealing with my emotions I had from the trauma of my experience’s starting at such a young age.

Over the last 10 years I’ve spent time trying to claw my way out the street life I embraced a majority of my life and it has been a huge struggle. A lot of good lessons and set backs too being that I have been up and down in my recovery. I have been blessed with having met the people involved with house of transformation who have definitely went above and beyond supporting me and helping me to remember that I’m worth the fight and I can use my story to help others. I’ve had a heart to help others break their addiction and from indulging in unhealthy lifestyles as I did for so long. I always wanted to be a lawyer instead of a inmate. Even though I’ve spent time as an inmate, it’s opened the doors for me to pursue a paralegal career AND pursue being a CDC/ Peer Support as well. HOT has given me a place to reside as i transition back into the community. They’ve given me a job as a caseworker where I can channel my energy to help others get where they want to be. When no one had faith in me and I was absolutely convinced I was a lost cause, HOT has helped me allow God to rebuild my self esteem and confidence. They’ve helped me realize that my story can help others change their lives and made me see that I have a purpose and that I can use all the bad in my life for the good and I am grateful to have this chance. I can’t express how good it feels to be able to help the community see better days!
